Seiko Takada was a pupil of Enrico Cecchetti in the year 1910. she was the first to establish ballet in Japan and was recognized by Jovanni Vittorio Rosie. In 1922 she went to the United States and met Isadora Duncan in New York. For five years her dance activity was centered in London and Paris.
After she returned to Japan in 1977 at the age of 82, she activery pursued her career in dance. She brought up many pupils and made history for the Japanese modern dance. She was a great dancer. Her techniques included; importance of the story, the music and the lyric and the body that moves gracefully with the expression that overflows with the basic technique of ballet, absolute and graceful within.
